A Louisiana native and a resident of Meaux, Louisiana since the late 1970s, “Buck” was influenced on the fiddle early on by Jimmy Choate, whose band, The Melody Aces, played the Louisiana Hayride in the late 40’s and 50’s backing major country music artists such as George Jones & Jimmy C. Newman. Jimmy Choate’s death in 1990 led Buck to seek out Louisiana fiddler, Hadley J. Castille, for individual instruction on his Cajun fiddle style and he credits fiddlers Bob Wills, Stephane Grappelli, and Michael Doucet among his major musical influences.
