She began singing professionally in Austin, Texas folk and rock bands. After recording two fine collaborative albums (Yellow Rose and Cause of the Cactus) with legendary songwriter Butch Hancock, Marce began exploring her Cajun heritage and apprenticed to traditional Louisiana ballad singers, Lula Landry and Inez Catalon. Marce’s first solo recording, La Joie Cadienne (Cajun Joy) (2000), produced by Sonny Landreth, is a loving tribute to them. That same year saw the release of her recording with the Austin acoustic roots trio, Rue La-La (Sky on Blue). Marce founded the a capella ensemble, Veillée and has recently opened La Bonne Vie Cultural Center in Breaux Bridge, LA.
